Our clerkship students in Lira Campus joined the campaign of environmental conservation by participating in tree planting.
Under the supervision of Law Development Centre’s Legal Officer, Ms. Brenda Nakibira, the students planted trees in collaboration with the Magistrates Court, the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), and Central Police Station.
This activity was aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing professional relationships with other sister institutions which took part in the exercise.
Ms. Nakibira emphasised the importance of environmental conservation and the role that each LDC student can play in making a positive impact.
Mr. Lackloan Tusabe, one of the clerkship students, said that this activity will not only contribute to the beautification of the area but it also engaged them actively in a cause that is crucial for combating climate change and promotion of biodiversity.
“The tree planting activity was a significant way to conclude our clerkship program. It allowed us to reflect on our experiences, build lasting relationships with key institutions, and contribute positively to our environment,”
On behalf of LDC, Ms. Nakibira thanked the Chief Magistrate, the DPP Office, and the Uganda Police Force for their support and engagement in this initiative.
This is one of the ways LDC offers meaningful contribution to the community and impactful clerkship program to its students.
